URGENT COMMUNITY APPEAL, HELP US BRING ASANDA HOME
The community of Bulawayo, we are pleading with you. A precious 2-year-old baby girl, Asanda Charisma Ndhlovu (pictured) was abducted this morning, 17 February 2026, at Meikles Market in Bulawayo. She was in the care of her grandmother, who runs a shop in the building, after her father, Ayibongwe Ndhlovu, briefly left to run errands in town.
While the grandmother was serving customers, CCTV footage captured a slim-built man dressed in black clothing carrying little Asanda away at approximately 10:56 AM. Her mother, Nesisa Mpofu, is completely devastated. She cannot even speak through her tears. A mother’s worst nightmare is not knowing where her child is. A father is shattered, a grandmother is blaming herself and a family is broken tonight.
Bulawayo, we are a strong community. We do not stand by when a child is taken. We are asking, please be on high alert. If you were at Meikles Market this morning, think back carefully. If you saw a man dressed in black carrying a toddler around 10:56 AM, come forward.
To the person who took this innocent child, please, please have compassion. She is only two years old, she does not understand what is happening. She needs her mother, she needs safety and she needs love. You were once a child too mfowethu. Please do not harm her, please give her the chance to grow, to laugh, to go to school, to live.
You can leave her at any safe place, a hospital, a police station, a church, a home, anywhere she will be found safely. No child deserves to suffer. Think about the consequences, think about the pain and think about
