HARARE – A Milton Park man has claimed he was publicly humiliated following a dispute over payment for alleged sexual services in central Harare, with the incident reportedly ending in a confrontation involving several women.
According to **H-Metro**, the man, identified only as Tony, met a 19-year-old woman known as Mai Chimwana at the corner of Sixth Street and Central Avenue on the night of Tuesday, July 28, 2026. The pair allegedly agreed on a fee of **US$20** before going to an apartment at Gail Court along Samora Machel Avenue.
Tony told the publication that he only had **US$10**, despite agreeing to pay the full amount. He claimed he was surprised upon arriving at the apartment to find several beds in the room and other women present.
> "I met this lady at the corner of Sixth and Central Avenue when I was on my way home and entered into the transaction. Upon reaching the apartment, I was shocked to see five different beds in the room," he told H-Metro.
He further alleged that the presence of the other women made him uncomfortable and prevented him from sleeping.
Tony also claimed he intended to obtain money from one of his clients before paying the agreed fee.
"I wanted to take her to my client so that she hands over the banner, receive the money, pay her US$20 and keep the balance," he said.
Sex Worker Disputes Claims
Mai Chimwana gave a different account of the events, insisting Tony was fully aware of the arrangement before entering the apartment.
She alleged that after receiving the services, Tony attempted to leave without paying, forcing her to seek assistance from the other women in the apartment.
> "Tony wanted to leave without paying the agreed fee, and this forced me to call for support from the other ladies. He had money but simply did not want to pay. Besides the services provided, he also spent the night in the room," she told H-Metro.
She added that she had initially quoted **US$40** but accepted **US$20** because she wanted to leave the streets due to the cold weather.
### Confrontation Escalates
According to H-Metro, the disagreement escalated after the women confronted Tony over the unpaid fee. The publication reported that he was allegedly forced to sit naked on the floor while the women threatened to pour raw sewage on him if he refused to pay. It also reported that some of his personal belongings were confiscated during the confrontation.
The incident highlights the risks associated with informal transactions and disputes that occur outside the protection of formal legal processes. No information was immediately available on whether the matter was reported to the police or if any arrests were made.
