ZAOGA Church Elder Named Among Leeds’ Most Dangerous Convicted Criminals Following Rape Sentence
By A Correspondent | ZimEye | A Zimbabwean man identified as Innocent Majoni, who has been described as a ZAOGA Forward in Faith church elder, has been named among the most serious offenders sentenced by Leeds Crown Court, after receiving a 13-year prison sentence in absentia for rape and sexual assault offences.
The ZAOGA @FIFMI leader caught in the act forcing a minor to strip, has been identified.
He is the 57 year old, Godfrey Mutara, who is based in Leicester, UK.

According to court proceedings cited in UK media reports, the 47-year-old was convicted on three counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault. The court heard that he threatened to have the complainant deported unless she complied with his demands. In a victim impact statement, the complainant told the court she fears Majoni could kill her.

Despite the lengthy prison sentence, Majoni remains at large after failing to appear for sentencing.
Corporate records indicate that Majoni was previously listed as a director of Health Care Limited, a company that has since entered liquidation. He is recorded as having joined the company in 2013 before resigning in 2023.
Majoni’s case featured among a number of serious criminal matters concluded at Leeds Crown Court during the week, which included convictions for child sexual abuse, rape and violent offending.
The developments have also renewed scrutiny of ZAOGA Forward in Faith over its handling of allegations involving church leaders.
At the time of publication, ZAOGA Forward in Faith had not issued a public statement regarding Majoni’s conviction. The church has neither publicly commented on another recent incident involving an elder whose alleged audio recording, purportedly involving communication with a minor in Leicester, circulated widely on social media.Geographic Reference
Attention has also been drawn to the church’s historical handling of misconduct involving senior figures. Critics have pointed to the fact that Naison Guti, brother of the late church founder Archbishop Ezekiel Guti, has remained a bishop despite his widely reported 2004 child rape conviction.
Leeds, in West Yorkshire, is one of England’s largest cities, with a population of around 830,000 and a metropolitan population exceeding 2.3 million. Being listed among the week’s most serious offenders has placed Majoni’s case prominently in local and national crime reporting.
Among those sentenced by Leeds Crown Court during the same period were:
Innocent Majoni (47): 13 years’ imprisonment for three counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault. Sentenced in absentia and remains wanted.
Liam Heckler (27): 11 years’ imprisonment after admitting 17 sexual offences involving a child.
Jason Spence (38): A 32-year extended sentence for raping and sexually abusing children.
Alan Ward (71): 13 years’ imprisonment for historic sexual offences against a teenage girl.
Dilali Dembel (25): Two years’ imprisonment for robbery and multiple theft offences.
Damien Robinson (35): Twenty-nine months’ imprisonment for burglary and related offences.
ZAOGA Forward in Faith had not responded to requests for comment by the time of publication.
