MASVINGO – A ZNA soldier stationed at Four Infantry Brigade in Masvingo has been remanded in custody after he was found in possession of cocaine, crystal math and dagga valued at US$1 500.
Masvingo Magistrate Pauline Nyalenda remanded Tatenda Luckson Munetsi (38) in custody to next Tuesday.
Munetsi of Runyararo West in Masvingo, was arrested on Saturday.
He is jointly charged with his brother Ashton Munetsi (30) and Amara Tracy Choruwa (34) of Runyararo South West in Masvingo.
Circumstances are that detectives received information that Choruwa was selling illegal drugs and lured her to SanSiro Club under the pretext that they wanted to buy cocaine.
Choruwa arrived at SanSiro and the detectives identified themselves, searched her and recovered two sachets of cocaine. Choruwa was arrested and interviewed.
She implicated Munetsi as her supplier and detectives used her phone to arrange a meeting with Munetsi at Gomba shops.
Munetsi and his brother where sitting in a Nissan March when detectives arrived. The vehicle was searched and 3. 2 kg of dagga, seven grams of cocaine and 10 grams of crystal math were seized.
