Four Dube Family Members Die In Horror Crash

By Correspondent-Four family members have died in a tragic road accident in Shangani, in yet another devastating loss on Zimbabwe’s roads.

Tumelo Dube, his wife Antonetta, and their two children, Itumeleng and Rorisang, all perished in the crash.

A funeral service for the family was held at Doves Funeral Parlour in Bulawayo, where mourners gathered to pay their last respects. Their bodies have since been taken to Gwanda for burial.

The tragedy has left relatives and the wider community in deep mourning, with many expressing condolences to the Dube family.Anti-corruption advocacy

The accident comes barely days after another horrific incident involving the Mujuru family, which shocked the nation and underscored the growing toll of road fatalities.

In that incident, Ronald Mujuru, a former manager of musician Andy Muridzo, lost his wife and five children in a head-on collision along the Harare–Masvingo Road near the 246-kilometre peg close to Mvuma.

According to police, a Toyota Corolla carrying the family collided with a Mercedes-Benz truck, killing all six occupants on the spot.

The victims were identified as Lilian Mujuru (40) and her five children — Nokutenda (15), Makanaka (13), Ronald Junior (11), Rufaro Shalom (7), and three-year-old Kayden.

The family had been travelling from their home in Tynwald North, Harare, to attend a church conference ahead of the Easter holidays.

The back-to-back tragedies have once again raised concern over road safety, with authorities urging motorists to exercise extreme caution, particularly during peak travel periods.

As Zimbabwe continues to grapple with these losses, the deaths of both the Dube and Mujuru families stand as a painful reminder of the fragility of life and the urgent need for safer roads.
