Glen View Couple Deaths: Suspected Lover Hospitalised as Police Probe Deepens

Police have intensified investigations into the deaths of a Glen View couple whose bodies were discovered at their home on Wednesday morning, with an alleged lover of the woman reportedly hospitalised following an earlier assault.

Nyasha Mhungu, 36, and his wife, Olga Muzhingi, 31, were found dead in their bedroom on 23 September 2026, hours after they had reportedly sought counselling over marital problems.

The circumstances surrounding the deaths remain unclear, and police have not publicly established what caused the couple to die.

According to H-Metro, the couple had approached Apostle Hardlow Chikaka of Baptism of Fire International Ministries on Tuesday for counselling.

A neighbour claimed the couple had been experiencing marital problems and that tensions escalated after Nyasha allegedly discovered messages on Olga's cellphone involving another man.

The neighbour further alleged that Nyasha confronted and assaulted the suspected lover, who was subsequently admitted to hospital.

The neighbour also claimed that Nyasha was later seen confronting Olga over the alleged relationship.

Police have not confirmed the alleged affair as a motive in the deaths.

Axe, Shambok and Blood-Stained Stool Recovered

Investigators reportedly recovered several items from the bedroom, including an axe, a shambok, Olga's cellphone and a stool that was allegedly stained with blood.

The presence of the axe has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the deaths, although there has been no official confirmation that it was used in the incident.

The bodies were taken for post-mortem examinations, which are expected to assist investigators in determining the cause of death.

Family members also reportedly raised unresolved issues surrounding lobola.

One relative alleged that Nyasha had not paid lobola despite the couple having lived together for about nine years.

However, Olga's brother, Nebert Muzhingi, described the couple as generally peaceful despite occasional marital disagreements.

The family, he said, was shocked by the deaths and described the couple as loving and committed to their church.

Six-Year-Old Daughter Found Parents

The couple's six-year-old daughter reportedly discovered the disturbing scene in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to relatives, the girl had gone to her parents' bedroom after being disciplined by her grandmother over her blankets.

She allegedly found her father vomiting before running back to alert her grandmother.

Relatives reportedly rushed to the house at about 6am, where they found both Nyasha and Olga dead.

Police have since secured the scene as investigations continue.

Detectives are expected to examine the evidence recovered from the bedroom, the couple's reported marital difficulties, the alleged assault on the suspected lover and the results of the post-mortem examinations.

Authorities have yet to release a definitive account of how the couple died.

The case remains under investigation.
