Zimbabwe is still trying to make sense of the tragic deaths of ZHRC Commissioner Dr Engineer Martin Muduva and his wife, Lyliosa Chirara. Reports of a long-running love triangle, alleged lobola for another woman and a WhatsApp status that allegedly added fuel to the fire have turned a marriage story into a national talking point. But, as police investigate, social media has already conducted its own trial — complete with evidence, witnesses and a verdict!
15 SEPTEMBER: NEW HOLIDAY, NEW QUESTIONS
Bulawayo and Matabeleland have been celebrating the legacy of King Mzilikazi, with the day gaining growing cultural and religious significance. Now 15 September is reportedly being declared a public holiday as Munhumutapa Day. A holiday is welcome — but Zimbabweans are already asking the important question.........
VENDORS: THE STREETS HAVE SPOKEN
Government has now taken its own advice - the streets must be orderly! Vendors have been cleared from major streets in Harare, Bulawayo and elsewhere. Clean streets are good news, although the vendors may be asking: “But where exactly must we sell?”
POMONA: SEVEN DAYS TO SAY YES
And then there is the Geo Pomona deal. Government has reportedly given Bulawayo seven days to accept the deal. The message appears simple: the city must deal with its waste — and quickly. After all, if the streets are being cleaned, the rubbish must also receive its marching orders.
