Centre for Development Studies (CDS) College has added another prestigious accolade to its growing list of achievements after being recognised at the 2026 MegaFest Business Awards as the Outstanding Academic Institution of the Year – Southern Region.
The institution received a Bronze Winner award at the MegaFest Business Awards 2026, marking yet another milestone in the college's continued pursuit of academic excellence and its contribution to Zimbabwe's education sector.
According to the award presented to the college, the recognition was made “on the recommendation of the Board and by virtue of the authority vested” in the organisers, in recognition of CDS College's outstanding contribution as an academic institution in the Southern Region.
A growing legacy of excellence
The latest recognition adds to CDS College's established reputation as an institution committed to shaping the education landscape in Zimbabwe.
Over the years, the college has received recognition for its contribution to education, professional development and the advancement of learners seeking to improve their academic and career prospects. Its continued presence in the education sector has positioned the institution as one of the colleges contributing to the development of Zimbabwe's human capital.
The MegaFest award therefore represents more than just another trophy for the institution. It is an affirmation of the college's sustained efforts to provide quality education and create opportunities for students to acquire knowledge and skills relevant to Zimbabwe's changing socio-economic environment.
Recognition of institutional commitment
The Outstanding Academic Institution of the Year – Southern Region category places emphasis on institutions that demonstrate excellence and impact within the academic environment.
For CDS College, the recognition comes at a time when education institutions are increasingly expected to go beyond traditional classroom teaching and equip students with practical knowledge, professional skills and the capacity to contribute meaningfully to society.
The Bronze Winner accolade reflects the institution's growing profile and its ability to compete for recognition within a broader business and institutional environment.
Building Zimbabwe's future through education
Education remains central to Zimbabwe's development, particularly at a time when the country is seeking to strengthen its skills base and prepare young people and professionals for an increasingly competitive economy.
Institutions such as CDS College play an important role in this process by providing avenues for academic advancement and professional development.
The latest MegaFest recognition is consequently a significant achievement not only for the college but also for its students, lecturers, administrators, alumni and other stakeholders who have contributed to its journey.
