Here’s How Much the Warriors Stand to Earn at AFCON 2025
Zimbabwe’s senior men’s football team, the Warriors, stand to earn significant financial rewards at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which kicks off on 21 December in Morocco.
With CAF offering millions of dollars in prize money, the tournament presents a lucrative opportunity for the team should they progress beyond the group stages.
What the Zimbabwe Warriors Stands to Earn at AFCON 2025
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set aside a US$32 million prize pool for the tournament, with all participating teams guaranteed a minimum payout.
According to Soccer24, Zimbabwe is assured US$500 000 for taking part in the competition or finishing fourth in their group.
A third-place finish in the group stages would see that figure rise to US$700 000, while qualification for the Round of 16 would earn the Warriors US$800 000 — a milestone the team has never achieved at AFCON.
Bigger Rewards Await in Knockout Stages
Progress beyond the group phase brings even greater financial incentives. Teams reaching the quarter-finals will pocket US$1.3 million, while semi-finalists stand to earn US$2.5 million.
The tournament’s runners-up will receive US$4 million, while the eventual champions will walk away with a US$7 million prize.
