Machakaire Calls for National Honour for Coach Rambo Following Heroic Act

Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training Minister Tino Machakaire has urged President Emmerson Mnangagwa to formally recognize Victor “Coach Rambo” Kazembe for his remarkable bravery and selfless service during a recent tragedy.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Minister Machakaire praised Coach Rambo for displaying extraordinary courage in the face of danger, describing him as a true national hero whose actions brought comfort and dignity to grieving families.

Although the minister said he was attending a Cabinet meeting and could not witness the events firsthand, he commended Kazembe for putting the welfare of others before his own safety.

“In a moment of great tragedy, he displayed the strength of a lion and the heart of a servant, risking his own life to bring dignity to the deceased and closure to grieving families,” Machakaire said.

The minister noted that Coach Rambo’s actions reflected the highest values of humanity, sacrifice, and service, qualities that deserve national recognition.

To honour his contribution, Machakaire revealed that he intends to seek an audience with President Mnangagwa and appeal for Kazembe to be rewarded with land and cattle as a token of appreciation for his outstanding service to the nation.

“I will find time to humbly appeal to His Excellency, President Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa, to consider recognizing and rewarding this outstanding son of the soil,” he said.

Machakaire added that Zimbabwe needs more citizens who demonstrate compassion, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility towards their communities. He said Coach Rambo’s conduct should serve as an inspiration to the nation and encourage a culture of selflessness and service.

The minister also extended his heartfelt condolences to families who lost loved ones in the tragedy, expressing hope that they would find strength and comfort during this difficult period.
