By A Correspondent – Zimbabweans are reeling in shock following the brutal killing of Harare-based inDrive driver Brian Nandana, a case that has sparked grief and outrage across the country.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the arrest of 28-year-old Shepherd Severa in connection with the murder.

According to police, Nandana was allegedly killed in Warren Park D before his body was secretly buried in a shallow grave at Warren Hills Cemetery.
In a statement issued on Thursday, police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said detectives launched investigations after a blood-stained Toyota Aqua, registration number AGO 2804, was discovered abandoned at the cemetery around 4AM on May 19.

Authorities say investigations later led to Severa’s arrest. Police allege the suspect admitted to murdering his friend by cutting his throat with a kitchen knife before “sucking his blood.”Zimbabwe economic analysis

Detectives were reportedly guided to the burial site by the suspect, where Nandana’s remains were recovered. Police said the body had a deep wound on the neck as well as injuries at the back of the head.

The horrific killing of the 30-year-old Solusi University graduate has left many Zimbabweans devastated, with messages of mourning pouring in from across the country.

Mandara Seventh-day Adventist Church Online also paid tribute to Nandana in an emotional statement released on Thursday.

“With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we extend our sincere condolences to the Nandana family on the untimely loss of our beloved brother, Brian Nandana,” the church said.

The church described Nandana as a talented pianist and devoted member of the Seventh-day Adventist community whose future had been filled with promise.

“We have lost not only a gifted pianist and fellow Seventh-day Adventist member, but also a young man whose future was beginning to shine with great promise and hope ahead,” the statement read.

The church encouraged mourners to remain steadfast in faith despite the tragedy.
“Though Brian’s life was cut short so painfully, we pray that God grants comfort, peace, and strength to everyone mourning his passing. May we continue to support one another in love and faith as we await the blessed hope of resurrection morning.”
